SCHOOL POLICIES

Absences and Makeup Lessons: Lessons missed may be made up in an alternate class of the same or lower level in which the student is enrolled.

Snow Cancellation: If the Cambridge Public Schools are closed, the Boston Dance Company will be closed. Makeup classes will not be scheduled for snow days, students may make up classes missed per the policy noted above. If in doubt, phone the Boston Dance Company at 617-491-8615, and there will always be a message on the phone machine if we are cancelling classes.

Class Placement and Levels: Class placement is based on age, years of experience, skill level, coordination, strength, understanding of ballet technique, musicality, concentration and maturity. PLACEMENT DECISIONS ARE MADE SOLEY BY THE FACULTY AND ARTISTIC DIRECTOR.

DRESS CODE

Creative Movement & Introduction to Dance: Any type of loose fitting clothes (sweat pants, shorts. leotards), ballet slippers or bare feet.

Pre-Ballet & Ballet 1: Pink leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers (girls); white t-shirt, black tights, black ballet slippers (boys).

Ballet 2 - Ballet 4: Solid color leotard (pastel or white preferred), pink tights, pink ballet slippers, pink pointe shoes where appropriate (girls); white t-shirt, black or white tights, black or white ballet slippers (boys).

Hair must be off the face and neatly secured in a bun.
No t-shirts, plastic pants, or other baggy clothes.
Elastics on shoes are to be sewn, not pinned or tied.
Ballet warmers are permitted, when cold, at the barre.
Short chiffon ballet skirts permitted in the center.

PAYMENT TERMS & TUITION RATES

Tuition is for the entire school year (September-June, 33 weeks) and is based on the number of class hours per week each student is enrolled. The tuition is divided into 3 equal installments. The first installment plus a $10.00 registration fee are due at registration with the remaining installments due at the studio on or before January 3rd and March 28th. Cash, check, Master Card, Visa, Amex or Discover Cards are accepted. Payments may be budgeted monthly, if necessary, providing special arrangement is made with administration. Children must enroll in a class and may not pay by the class.

You can find the Schedule of Classes on that page on our website and you can find the Fee Schedule above. Simply add up the total number or hours the student will be studying dance with us each week, and find the appropriate fee on the Fee Schedule.
